Build your own fairytale
Predicted to be one of the most popular LEGO sets of the year, the release of the Disney Cinderella Castle is one you simply can’t miss. This set encompasses all that is iconic about Disney, and I’m about to tell you why.
The set is huge; it’s made up of over 4,000 pieces and towers over 74 centimetres tall. But we know not to judge a fairy tale by its cover - what’s inside will blow you away. Each room in the castle is inspired by a Disney tale, and LEGO, Disney and Pixar all worked together on to make it the best it can be. It brings a little bit of magic into your play, and as a collector this means it embodies Disney in a single set. It’s an iconic piece of nostalgia that will live forever.
Excited? Let me give you the grand tour.
Cinderella
We have to start here – it’s the Cinderella castle after all. The first-floor of the main tower is where Cinderella does her daily duties. This room features a redbrick-patterned stove, a workbench and assorted kitchen utensils. When you’re ready for some magic, there’s also a buildable broom and pumpkin.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
This room features a golden mirror, red apple and a glass vase. Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?
Sleeping Beauty
Bringing bedroom to a new meaning, this room features an ornate bed with golden headboard detailing. In a separate room lies the spinning wheel, used by Maleficent in attempt to kill Princess Aurora. Touch the spindle! Touch it, I say!
Aladdin
The main hall features a magic carpet and Genie’s Lamp. Warning: use your three wishes wisely (wish for more Disney Cinderella Castle LEGO sets).
Beauty and the Beast:
This room features the red rose in the glass case, and buildable dark-blue curtains. Who could ever learn to love a beast?
Fantasia
Brooms, mops and buckets will come to life and dance around with the help of the spell book. Just use your imagination to make it happen.
Details that bring a little bit more magic into the castle
The clocks are all painted at five minutes to midnight, alluding to the Cinderella tale. Discover the secret compartment with a glass slipper and a perfect fairy tale book, whose first page starts in a way we know so well – ‘Once upon a time’.
As if the Castle itself wasn’t exciting enough, mini figures of the most iconic Disney characters are also included – Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse. Exclusive to this set is Tinker Bell, with a custom sculpted wig.
Official release date is 1st September, 2016. Wait until the clock strikes 12, and remember – don’t be late!
